Joan Miró: Masterpieces from the Nahmad Collection

“Joan Miró: Masterpieces from the Nahmad Collection” is now on view at the Picasso Museum in Antibes. The suite of twelve seminal paintings featured in the exhibition–all drawn from the Nahmad Collection–include the 1967 painting pictured here, “Oiseau dans la nuit (Bird in the Night).”

This work was last exhibited at our New York gallery in 2015 as part of “Joan Miró: Oiseaux dans L’Espace,” a solo presentation of the artist’s masterworks from the sixties and seventies. The exhibition reexamined major paintings from the final two decades of the artist’s life, shedding new light on the Catalan master’s complex and profound engagement with American abstract art.
