A poetic universe unfolds in Sorrento.

On view through October 12 at Villa Fiorentino, “Joan Miró: The Enchantment of Signs” offers a rare glimpse into the Catalan master’s intimate, graphic language. Featuring over fifty works on paper—including lithographs, engravings, and experimental prints—the exhibition traces Miró’s visual evolution through signs, symbols, and spirited line.

Highlights include the surreal suite “Les pénalités de l’enfer ou Les Nouvelles-Hébrides (1973),” the absurdist theater of “Ubu Roi,” and “Lapardi,” pictured here. Presented by the Fondazione Sorrento, the show reveals a more personal Miró: playful, poetic, and deeply attuned to the rhythms of imagination.
