Takashi Murakami: Stepping on the Tail of a Rainbow,” on view at the Cleveland Museum of Art through September 7 2025, brings together more than 20 large-scale works that blur the boundaries between pop, tradition, and fantasy.

Known for his brightly colored flowers, anime-inspired figures, and signature “Superflat” aesthetic, Murakami draws from both Japanese visual history and global consumer culture. The exhibition features paintings, sculptures, and immersive installations offering a wide-ranging view of his playful yet deeply layered practice.

At once exuberant and critical, Murakami’s work invites viewers into a world where cuteness, chaos, and cultural memory collide.
