Nahmad Contemporary at 980 Madison Avenue in New York is staging a major Jean-Michel Basquiat exhibition, "Words Are All We Have," from May 2 to June 11. Dieter Buchhart, the prolific Austrian art historian and cuartor, is organizing the show on the heels of his critically acclaimed "Jean-Michel Basquiat: Now's the Time," held at the Art Gallery of Ontario in Toronto in 2015. Major works on view include Moses and the Egyptians, 1982, in acrylic and oil on canvas from the collection of the Guggenheim Bilbao; Masonic Lodge, 1983, left, never before exhibited in the U.S.; and Thesis, also from 1983, which debuted in Basquiat's second West Coast solo show at Gagosian's Los Angeles gallery that same year.
